Embrace what you have, and let the pain go

Jul 23, 2023

Well I am a long way away at the moment preparing to go up into the mountains of Jerome in Arizona. As from Friday I will be at Jerome Grand Hotel sitting in reception working on my love story. But more importantly I will be seeing my friends and signing the new book “Tomorrow We Get To Do It All Again”. I feel like a fraud. Because I may have written the book, but the story was made by Larry, the guy who turned the hospital into this incredible hotel. And the story is made every day by the people who work there and guests that visit. I am just that short hobbit type guy who had a pen at the right time.

I reflected on my life last night, the good and the bad. And I realised that I was a very rich man. Certainly not financially, but in the ways that really matter. I don’t need anything, and I have everything. Inner peace being the most important. I am embracing every good thing in my life, and I am counting all the blessings I have. I am a millions miles away from that little boy, wearing wellington boots, laying in a cornfield.

And I realised that I found this peace by letting go of my anger and pain. I do not hate anyone. I wish the best for everyone. I don’t envy what they have. And I try and share what I have. It took me many years to find what works for me. And I hope you all find that inner peace.
